The Indian Head Half Eagle shares a common design with the smaller Quarter Eagle. Together these two coins represent a unique design in American coinage since the designs are incuse. Many collectors have chosen to focus on these series for this unique aspect and the highly artistic design. The Half Eagle series was relatively short with just 24 different issues, but features a few scarce coins to create a challenge.
